SMP again...

Currently our SMP cannot be accessed as the Bahagian Perkhidamtan Akademik (BPA) UMS said they are key in the result for the students.

So the SMP maybe can be accessed in middle of June 2009, said the BPA guy.

However, the period for Pra-Pendaftaran Kursus is 1 June until 14 June 2009.
Hence, try to access SMP during that period of time.

Lecturers Visiting for Latihan Industri...

The tentative date for the visit is from 1-4 Jun 2009. It is just
a simple visit to the company to see how's our student performing. I just some one from the company who can tell about the student performance. It may just take about 1 hr discussion with the student and supervisor/representative for each place.

We have agreed that Dr Sharifudin
will cover the Penang island and Butterworth andI (Dr Chye) will take care of Prai-Kedah-Perlis. -Dr Chye (20 May 2009)

Hence, it seem that Dr Chye and Dr Din will visit Penang, Kedah and Perlis.

If anyone of you that know who is going to visit which state or area, and would like to share with others, please leave a comment on this post.

I think we cannot find our Projek Penyelidikan 1in the time table as it does not need a time and place for this subject.

If you open your SMP account now,
i believe you will just read the Permohonan Tinggal Kolej page only.
What status are you, are you being accepted or you want to make rayuan or whatever,
it seem impossible at this moment.

This problem already being told to Christopher and below are his reply on 11 May 2009 (Monday):

The problem about all things reset in SMP has been reported.
They said they will rectify the problem in 2 days.
So at this moment just ignore la.

An Important Message from Chris...

To: SSMP 3rd Year Students

Dear friends,

RE: Residence College Application/Appeal

Refer to the matter above.
I have met En. Awang from Student Residence and Service Section (S3P), Student and Alumni Affairs Department (HEP), and have acquired the following information,

1. If the online (SMP) system display your status as “Application failed”, please do your appeal (if you want to continue staying in your residence college) as soon as possible, regardless of whether your name has been written in manually in the list of the respective residence colleges. The expiry date is 23rd May, but do not wait till last minute.

2. The main reasons for rejecting your application are (1) discipline case recorded and (2) inactivity in the residence college you’re staying in (even during the first semester of session 2008/2009).

3. There is a quota for appeal, and those who were actively involved, who have contributed to, the respective residence colleges they applied for will be given priority.

4. En. Awang agreed to help (but there’s no guarentee).

5. Any switching of residence colleges is permitted (if the one who applies for it has a strong reason) but discouraged, and all such requests should be made directly through the Student Residence and Service Section of the HEP, because they have the overall quota and master list.
MPP will appeal manually in one letter here in UMS for those whose applications were rejected, so individual manual appeal on your behalf is not necessary.

Those who have told Jian Ming their names will have a chance (not certainty) to get an answer before July – that is, before new semester starts – whether their appeals are accepted or not.
For the people who forgot to send in their name to Jian Ming or were missed-informed, they will certainly have to wait until the third week of July – that is, after the first intake of the new undergraduates – and so they must look for themselves the temporary places to stay during the period pending appeal result.

Important notes for those who are appealing:

1. In your online (SMP) appeal, please fill in as many activities as you joined during the 1st semester of 2008/2009 session and never press submit button until you have completed the form (if I’m not mistaken it’s a one-time submission – no correction allowed once form is submitted).

2. I’ll write a letter and submit it here as a manual appeal in UMS, and will send a carbon copy of that letter to Jian Ming to be posted for your reference (and only those who have duly submitted their names to Jian Ming will be included).

3. Any submission of name after the 7th of May will not be entertained.

Name list for Appeal completed and updated on 5 May 2009 (Tuesday)

The deadline for summiting the name by email to foodstep@yahoo.com was on 2 May 2009 (Saturday), hence already given a week of time for you all to summit your name. The name list needed to be completed as soon as possible to help you all to appeal manually.

The name list for Appeal for Kolej or Problem faced by us already completed. There are 56 names in the list which updated until today (5 May 2009, Tuesday). Any late comer, pandai pandai lah...The name list already sent to Hui San, Whee Sim and Christopher for them to take further action.

Now what we can is just wait.
