Categories of Information ( Important)

To reduce the cost of sending short message of your leader, categories of information is introduced as following:

Categories of information and methods of delivering information:

Important and Urgent (IU) : by sending message, blog and email
Important but Not Urgent (INU) : by blog and email only
Casual and Sharing (CS) : by email only

Explanation of categories:

Important and Urgent means information that need to be reached to everyone and action is needed to be taken by all of us within a week. For example, need to register for certain things in a week.

Important but Not Urgent means information that need to be known by all of us but action need to be taken after a week or more. For example, the release of our result in SMP. We can check the result after a week or more also does not matter. Hence it is considered Important but Not Urgent.

Casual and Sharing is information that wanted to be shared among all of us. For example, I shared my experience of My First Week of LI on this blog.

Hope by introducing these categories of information, the FoodStep system will work better and favor all people. Besides, by introducing these categories of information, we all need to update ourselves regularly (at least once in a week) by visiting the foodstep06.blogspot.com and checking your email at least once o week.

All the Best and Seize the Day!

My First Week of Latihan Industri...

My First Week Of Latihan Industri (LI)

It was been a week of Latihan Industri ( LI)(as i started my LI earlier) in my company, Danisco Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Seberang Prai, Penang, an emulsifier production company based in Denmark( if you want to know more, please visit http://www.danisco.com/ ). It actually is a rush for me to start my LI as I just reached Penang on 12 December 2008 (Friday) and had a visit to my factory on the 14 December (Sunday) for the first time. Then the next day, I already started my LI.

15 December, it was my first day of LI. I started my journey from Penang island as early as 6.45am to avoid traffic jam. Hence I reached my factory quite early, 7.25am. I waited near the guard house roughly 15 minutes then another trainee from UPM reached at the guard house too. We had a short conversation till the guard asked us to take a Temporary tag and went into the factory lobby. Then we waited again at the lobby until 8.30am. Then I continued the conversation with another trainee. She is a forth year student, studying Food Study and all of the Food Study students also do their LI at final semester.

At 8.30am, the Security Department person-in-charge, En Muny, gave us a briefing for half and hour. En Muny was nice and funny during the security briefing session. After that, our supervisor who is also the Quality System Manager, Ms Ng took over the session. She gave us a short brief about what two of us will handle in this half year and I was being appointed to do something regarding Near Infrared (NIR) instrument. For the UPM friend, she will help in the certification of Global Standard.

After the briefing, she took us for a tour to the factory. We were given a new safety helmet (bright yellow in colour) and a pair of safety boot. The factory is huge and has a lot of plants like Ester plant, Spray plant and etc..It was my first time to walk inside a factory that has so much huge machines (much bigger than the Gardenia factory we visited in Sabah) and most of them are at outdoor. Although the factory is big, the employees inside it just have less than 150 people.

After the tour around the factory, we went back the building and a place to sit was given by my supervisor. People sitting around me were all managers like Human Resource Manager, Safety and Health Manager and even our supervisor is sitting in the same room with us. Like I mentioned before the employees here are not much so the space needed for employees is reduced.

Then we were given material by our supervisor to read once we sat down and that was all I did after that until today, READING. We both had been reading different reading materials like the NIR manual, the certification standard manual, the total quality system... This condition will last until when is what we both are concerned as we feel very boring just reading stuff. But we do understood that they are not free to guide us as they at this period of time have a lot audit like certification audit, audited by their customer company. Hopefully once the auditing finished, our practical life will change. But, there was no deny that I learned a lot from this few days of reading as a lot of stuff I do not know and I can search online on the spot as I am provided with a computer on my desk.
