Last year, the percentage of rejection for Kolej also quite high (forget the real %), and the worse was KKIP case.
However, at the end almost all of them got a placement in the Kolej.
Here is the situation:
- Currently, the University gives the priority for Kolej Kediaman to the
future-UMS-first-year students. - The University already set a target of how many students to receive and the number will be given to Seksyen Perumahan, HEP.
- Then the Seksyen Perumahan will reserve the place for them.
- Normally the target they will set is quite high but when the actual turn up rate for the future-UMS- first- year students is not full and normally is 80% and as some of them reject the offer to study in UMS.
Hence, the 20% of the future-first-year students’ kolej placement will be given to those who had appeal including our SSMP students.
The challenge I think of for those has not confirmed your placement for Kolej Kediaman is:
You need to think where you need to stay for a few weeks (around 3 weeks) when you back in Sabah.
Penduduk Tanpa Izin (PTI) in Kolej?
Friends’ house in Kingfisher or Indah Permai?
SSMP foyer with sleeping bag?
Or….
Here have two question hope that can get some response or suggestions:
1) The solution for this issue where we have our LI then we lost our chance to stay in Kolej next coming semester.
2) Where to stay for a few weeks after back to Sabah if the Kolej is not confirmed at that time?
Your response/suggestion or comment can be written in the comment below. All the best!
